We had an unusual hail storm this weekend, accompanied by thunder and lightning. It sounded like someone was throwing rocks at my skylight, and I sure was hoping that it wouldn’t break. We don’t get snow here, but the hail almost looks like snow.

I am planning to visit the Faroe Islands again during the summer for a couple of months, from mid-June through mid-August. I hope to be staying again in the little house on the edge of the bay – the one that used to be yellow and is now brown. Here are a few old favorite photos of the Faroes. I don’t want you to forget what they look like.
In the middle of this trip I will be going to Iceland for a couple of weeks with an Elder Hostel tour. I bought a new camera and tripod for the occasion. I am looking forward to seeing Iceland. Several times I have stopped briefly at the airport there, and I have even spent the night there a few times, but I haven’t yet done any sightseeing.

In preparation for my vacation this summer, I bought a new camera – a Canon SX30 IS. I walked up to a nearby hilltop to try out the zoom lens. It has a 35 times zoom, which means the camera sees much better than I do. Here are some pictures of the bay area on a sunny and cloudy day.
